Blog Commenting Tools
Written by admin on April 3, 2009 – 3:06 am -Blog commenting can be a powerful way to get backlinks to your sites. But doing it one by one can be really difficult and time-consuming.
That is why there are a couple of tools that make it easy for you – they find blogs that are relevant to your topic for you where you can easily post comments.
The best ones even filter out those only blogs that have the nofollow for comments deactived (if you don’t know what nofollow means, click here).
But nowadays, most blogs have nofollow links – that means these links are pretty much worthless in Google’s eyes – they don’t pass on pagerank. So you might lose out on a lot of good opportunities if you don’t comment there, and even the creator of Comment Kahuna recommends that you also comment on nofollow blogs, specially if they have high PR & Alexa ranking.
Comment Kahuna (free download here)
A great free tool by Jason Potash, who’s running JohnCow.com (another great blog for online marketers).
I like this one because it allows you to filter out only those who have nofollow for comment links deactived – that means your blog comment links will pass on Google pagerank to you. Also, you can chose sites that only have a pagerank (for example, you can tell Comment Kahuna to find only blogs that are relevant to your keyword that have a pagerank of 3 or higher).
The downside:
CommentKahuna does not open the links in your default browser, but in it’s own browser application. You can create profiles and it will then autofill the comment fields for you when you just click the button. While this is supposed to make it easier, my experience is that the inbuilt browser is less stable and crashes quiet often. I’d rather have Comment Kahuna open up the blog pages in my default browser, the way the Commetable Blog Finder does it.
Another problem with Comment Kahuna for me is that I repeatedly get error messages when I search for related blogs:
I don’t know what that error is about, but it’s annoying because I repeatedly have to click the OK button – and after all, the purpose of this kind of software is to automate so I have to click less.
Commentable Blog Finder v2.0 (free download here)
This one is a nice a free tool, but the downside is that you can’t sort out blogs that have the nofollow-function deactivated for comments. However, works fast and nice. When you doubleclick on any of the links, it will open a window in your default browser, which I like, because I use RoboForm that does autofill the forms and that makes it easy and more stable than Comment Kahuna.
Blog Buzz (free download here)
Another tool is called “blog buzz”, you can download it for free here. When I tried Blog Buzz, it didn’t work. The program loaded, I put in my keyword, hit “search” and it showed some activity in the status bar, but it never displayed any blogs that I could comment on.
Comment Sniper (free download here – limited time only)
Comment Sniper is a very different tool from the previous three. This one is not about submitting to lots of blogs, but it’s about submitting to high-authority blogs and being the first commenter.
The way this software works is that you tell it which blogs you want to post on first. Then, the software will monitor those blogs and immediately notifiy you when they sent out a new blog post – either via a program on your computer or via text message.
When you receive a notification, you immediately jump over to that blog and post a comment, and your chances of being first, or within the first couple of comments, are really high. This is good, because the first comments get read theĀ most.
Fast Blog Finder (free download here)
This tool comes as a free trial version, if you want to make use of the full functionality, you’ll have to buy the “Gold” version (which I haven’t). But I have to say I like it.
It has all the functions of Comment Kahuna, Commentable Blog Finder and Blog Buzz combined, except for “auto fill” and then some, yet it runs stable and has an intuitive user interface.
It shows both the PageRank of the domain AND the blog page, how many outbound links it has, when the site was last updated, whether the links are follow or nofollow and you can add your own notes.
You can also create lists (in the Gold version) of favourite blogs.
And it has some powerful filter options (those are a little hidden, you gotta click a tiny icon right above the browser frame).
Plus, you can export your data to a wide variety of file formats, which can come in really handy.
And you can also “blacklist” domains that you don’t want displayed. Great stuff!
