Backlinks
Backlinks are links that point to your website. They are extremely important for SEO (search engine optimization), because Google and other search engines ‘count’ backlinks in order to determine how good your website is.
Some backlinks count more than others. Backlinks from sites that themselves have lots of backlinks count more than backlinks from sites that have no backlinks themselves.
The more backlinks a website has, the higher it’s authority. So one of the things that you should always be looking out for is to get more backlinks.
There are different methods of doing so. One of them is a linkbait. Another one is blog commenting and forum commenting, link exchanges (Google can detect those now and doesn’t like them), article marketing, directory submissions, “paid backlinks”, press releases, link farms, video marketing, guest blogging, affiliate marketing (yep – very few peopel think about that one, but affiliate create huge amounts of backlinks) and more.
