Pimp My Squidoo
Written by admin on April 11, 2009 – 11:26 am -If you have squidoo lenses and are not an absolute squidoo whiz-kid already, check out this cool free tool to make your squidoo lenses better – it’s called SquidUtils.
There’s a lot to see on that page, so I’m going to give you the shortcut to get the most out of it in the shortest amount of time:
- Put your lensmaster ID in here: http://squidutils.com/login.php
- Choose the lens you want improved from the drop-down menu
- Click the CHECK button
- go through the analysis of your squidoo lens and see where you can improve it.
Chances are, there are many things you can do to improve your lenses. I found some that were very easy to implement, and according to SquidUtils, very important.

Squdioo
Written by admin on March 31, 2009 – 2:23 pm -This article is only for those of you, who don’t know about Squidoo yet. If you already are familiar with Squidoo, don’t read this.
Squidoo is one of the biggest and most important web2.0 properties for marketers.
Why? Because Google loves Squidoo. And Squidoo passes on pagerank – so if you link from a high PR squidoo lens to one of your websites, you get pagerank, Google counts that link.
Squidoo allows everyone to create free websites on the squidoo domain. They call these websites “lenses”.
You don’t have the flexibility you have when you create a website from scratch – but you can set up a squidoo lens literally in less than 10 minutes. However, in order to create a successful Squidoo lens – one that makes you money and brings in traffic – you’ll have to invest some time.
What’s involved in creating a successful Squidoo lens?
- Creating great and unique content.
I suggest you check out some of the most popular lenses on squidoo to see the kind of content that Squidoo users like. - Promoting your Squidoo lens.
Promoting your Squidoo lens takes a lot of work. You’ll have to create incoming links to your Squidoo site with relevant keywords. And you want to engage in the Squidoo community, get your lens rated, join Squidoo groups, do Squidoo Duels, and more.
Why should you go through all that hustle of promoting a Squidoo lens instead of your own website? Well, Squidoo lenses get ranked high in the search engines easier than other sites.
However – if in doubt, I’d always prefer to promote my own site rather than a Squidoo site of mine, because Squidoo sites don’t convert as well as my own sites.
But I do use Squidoo sites to promote my money pages. And that’s one of the main reasons why I do linkbuilding to my Squidoo pages.
